HOW IT WORKS
Over a ten-week period, Best of Stress Management will explain everything you need to determine which stress reduction techniques are right for you and how to create a mind-body health program. The course is based on science. It’s taught by one of the world’s leading authorities and other experts in the field. In your own living room. And in plain language that makes sense.
This first-of-its-kind product includes video instruction, audio lessons, a workbook to practice exercises, a biofeedback device to see your stress levels change, ongoing Web-based instruction and much more.
Video Instruction
The foundation of the program is the “Mind-Body Health and Healing” video, which you’ll watch first. In this hour-long presentation, James S. Gordon, M.D. demonstrates that mind-body exercises – from meditation to guided imagery, from deep breathing to biofeedback – should be central to every wellness and treatment program. He’ll teach you the science of mind-body medicine and show you effective and fun exercises that you can do on your own.
Audio Lessons and Exercises
Best of Stress Management also includes audio instruction on 10 CDs, one for each week of the course. Led by Dr. Gordon and his colleague Susan Lord, M.D., these lessons cover key stress management topics. Each CD includes an easy-to-understand lesson and exercises that you’ll be able to use over and over again. Also included are bonus contributions from some of the Center for Mind-Body Medicine’s distinguished friends and advisors.

MEET THE EXPERTS
Best of Stress Management is based on the Center for Mind-Body Medicine’s world renowned professional training program and includes the following experts.
Course Director. Best of Stress Management is led by James S. Gordon, M.D. Dr. Gordon is the Founder and Director of the Center for Mind-Body Medicine and a clinical professor at the Georgetown University School of Medicine. One of the world’s leading authorities on stress management and mind-body medicine, he has trained thousands of health professionals and patients on how to incorporate stress management and other self-care techniques into their lives.
Course Instructor. Susan Lord, MD, is an integrative physician who specializes in complementary and alternative medicine using mind-body approaches, energy medicine, functional medicine, nutrition, and lifestyle counseling. A graduate of Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, she is formerly the director of nutrition programs for the Center for Mind-Body Medicine in Washington DC, where she developed and directed the Food As Medicine professional training program for 6 years. Dr. Lord is currently Associate Medical Director and Director of Mind-Body Medicine at Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health in Stoc kbridge, MA.

Herbert Benson, M.D. is an international leader in mind-body medicine. He is considered the pioneer of the “relaxation response.” Dr. Benson is the founding President of the Mind/Body Medical Institute and an Associate Professor of Medicine, Harvard Medical School. Dr. Benson is the author of more than 170 scientific publications and ten books, including The Relaxation Response, The Wellness Book, and many others. More than four million copies of his books have been printed in many languages.
Joan Borysenko, Ph.D., is a scientist, psychologist, inspirational speaker, and author of Minding the Body, Mending the Mind, Inner Peace for Busy People, and many other books. Dr. Borysenko was co-founder and former Director of the Mind-Body clinical programs at two Harvard Medical School teaching hospitals.
Belleruth Naparstek, M.A., L.I.S.W., is an internationally recognized innovator in the field of guided imagery and the author of Staying Well with Guided Imagery. Her highly acclaimed Health Journeys guided imagery series is used in over 3,000 hospitals and clinics, and has sold over one million copies worldwide.
